STRONG
WRITING

I’m a writer, a mom, an activist, and a wife, not necessarily in that order. In 2003, I founded The Strong Buzz, one of the food industry’s first and more celebrated restaurant  blogs. I've written trend stories and chef profiles, but these days I mostly cover the intersection of food, law, and business for places like Eater, Eater NY , NPR, Skift Table, Food Republic, Serious Eats, and more.

Selected clips are included below.

I'm working on a cookbook with Akhtar Nawab entitled Good For You, coming out in Fall 2020 from Chronicle. I'm working on a new project, The New York Healthy School Food Alliance, which aims to change school food in NYC. I was included in The Best Food Writing of 2016 for the article I wrote, "Why Bakers Have Serious Mother Issues." This is  the second time I've been included in this book; the first was for the story I wrote on Sloppy Joes for The New York Times in 2002.

Strong Writing is a full-service copywriting studio for restaurant, hospitality, and food & beverage businesses. We write everything you need to engage with your customers, including:

  • Origin story

  • Chef, partner, and team bios

  • Newsletters and communications

  • Web copy, and more...
